About Us

About The Concert

The non-profit organization Music Therapy Gateway In Communications (MTGIC) created the Power of Music Concert as a vehicle to advocate directly to members of the concert audience regarding the benefits of music in healthcare, as well as to provide them with a wonderful concert experience.

This concert was a continuation of the advocacy series for music and the brain that MTGIC initiated in 2013. Since it was unsafe to gather in groups for live music during the Covid-19 pandemic, the concert format this year became virtual. In this way, as many people as possible could still experience all the various forms of music included in the program and learn more about how music could help to revolutionize healthcare.

Concert Program

Music for therapeutic use is most effective when favored by the client.  The programming for this concert represents many different genres and styles that different people prefer in the music they choose to listen to. This wide variety of works was also chosen to acknowledge and embrace the many styles of music we have all turned to for healing during this time of Covid-19.
